The BKL film: Why our customers sleep better.
BKL is a partner to rely on. We go above and beyond in our cinema-quality film. Guaranteeing plenty of thrills, it features two large cranes in the middle of the night in Frankfurt city centre – and ends with an unexpected twist.

The BKL film made it to the top three in the category "Wirtschaft gut präsentiert" (Business well presented), beating over 70 entries. One of Germany's oldest film accolades, the German Business Film Award is awarded each year by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The competition seeks to heighten public awareness and understanding of economic issues. The award ceremony took place in the tipi at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin on 25 October.

How was the spectacular footage filmed? Of course, it involved a real mobile crane lift about 55 metres above the ground. Just like all our other crane projects, the film shoot required careful planning, maximum safety, a great deal of concentration and consummate skill. Because, no matter how high you're aiming, you'll sleep better knowing that we're on your side.Trial run in Munich.
Before the scene was shot, we practised with the stunt team in Munich. The months of detailed planning certainly paid off and the equipment proved to be up to the task.Film shoot at the hotel in the heart of Frankfurt.

- » Two LTM 1450-8.1 mobile cranes, each with a hook height of roughly 65 metres.
- » An MK 140 mobile construction crane at a luffing position of 45 degrees as an illumination and safety crane.
- » Several trucks and BF3 vehicles to install the mobile cranes at the hotel.

With the team's full support, additional footage was then shot in Frankfurt, including planning the project, workshop scenes, the loading operation and the mobile cranes at the hotel, gearing up for the lift. The crane technicians, who can be seen assembling a tower crane, also pulled out all the stops. Incidentally, the final image shows our tower crane solution with a total of twelve BKL tower cranes on the major construction site in Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport.
